Johnny Depp has revealed he takes great care when deciding which films he wants to appear in and will only accept a movie role if he finds it fascinating.
He said: “The person I represent must be somehow special. I was totally fascinated of John Dillinger in ‘Public Enemies’ for example. And Captain Jack Sparrow was revolutionary – a bank robber but at the same time national hero. At that time banks were hated – like today. I see him as a sort of Robin Hood.”

Hm, thoughts?
Ozzy Osbourne would love Johnny Depp to play him in a film of his life. The shock rocker has just penned autobiography I Am Ozzy – and he’d eyeing the Pirates of the Caribbean hunk as the perfect person to portray him if the book was ever transformed for the big screen.
He says, “To have a movie made of my book – maybe with Johnny Depp playing me – I’d like that.”

This is such great news! Not only will Johnny appear on a new album by Babybird, he has also directed their new music video! The said album is due for release in February 2010, following the band’s short tour this November.
It’s 13 years since Babybird almost topped the UK charts with “You’re Gorgeous”, and now the band are trying again – this time with help from Johnny Depp. The Oscar-nominated actor appears on the Sheffield group’s forthcoming album, and has directed their new music video.
Depp “makes a cameo appearance” on “Ex-Maniac”, Babybird’s forthcoming sixth album. The Hollywood A-lister is reportedly a long-time fan of the band, and introduced frontman Stephen Jones to the new album’s producers, Bruce Witkin and Ryan Dorn. Witkin played with Depp in their high-school band, Kids, and has since worked with Adam Ant and Depp’s partner, Vanessa Paradis.
The actor was also spotted directing Babybird’s two-day video shoot in late September. Dressed in a beanie hat, heavy jacket and white-rimmed glasses, Depp ordered Jones around the set at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire. The video also features British actor Stephen Graham, star of “This Is England”, several “Arctic Monkeys” videos, and “Public Enemies” alongside Depp.

Well, I guess fans can breathe easier now!
Bosses of Disney have dismissed the reports that Johnny Depp would no longer be a part of forthcoming flick, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”.
Earlier, Johnny Depp who portrayed the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the flick, “Pirates of the Caribbean” hinted that he will quit the series as he has lost his excitement on the project after the departure of Disney chairman Dick Cook in September this year.
Johnny Depp had said, “There`s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm (for the project) at the moment. It was all born in that office.”
However, the spokesperson of Disney has claimed that the 46-year-old actor is very much a part of the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”, and cited the rumours as “completely unfounded”.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” will hit the theaters in the summer of 2011.

Actor Michael Caine told MTV News recently that Johnny will not be in the latest installment of Batman.
“There is nobody, there’s no script, there’s nothing,” Caine told MTV News of the status of the next “Batman” movie. “It can’t possibly be made before 2011 because ‘Inception’ is such a big picture.”
“[They] won’t tell me anything because I said this before,” laughed Caine of the no-tell policy surrounding him after last year’s Depp/Hoffman story. Nevertheless, Caine offered this bit of “news”—before admitting that it could be wrong, and he’d be in trouble all over again.
“Johnny Depp is great in anything, but there is no Johnny Depp in this Batman,” he smiled. “They tell me in no uncertain terms.”
