Johnny, along with director Tim Burton has yet another film in the works together! The remake of Gothic soap opera, Dark Shadows will be their eighth collaboration to date!
Dream team Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are joining up once again for what will be their eighth collaboration. The duo, whose film “Alice In Wonderland” is due out in March 2010, will be working on a film adaptation of “Dark Shadows”, a Gothic soap opera that ran from 1966 to 1971.
The film would star Depp as Barnabas Collins, a 175 year old vampire looking for his lost love in a town in Maine called Collinsport. Depp says that the role has been “a lifelong dream for me. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six.” Burton says that he also had a strange fascination with show. “It had the weirdest vibe to it. I’m sort of intrigued about that vibe.”

LA Times has an interesting article on Johnny up on their website. There’s also a new gorgeous photo shoot along with it.
Johnny Depp has fond memories of his first machine gun.
He was just a bitty kid growing up in Owensboro, Ky., but somewhere around age 5 or 6, he began shooting .22s, then moved on to .38s, .44s and .45s. And then he got his hands on a relative’s Thompson machine gun.
“I butted it up against the tree ’cause it tends to ride up on you,” says the 46-year-old actor, who relives the moment, complete with shooting sounds. He begins clapping his hand on the top of his imaginary gun. “My pop came in and grabbed it, so it didn’t go anywhere.” He laughs.

Johnny Depp has revealed he’s happy he waited to have children until he got together with Vanessa Paradis.
The couple started dating in 1998 and have two children – ten-year-old Lily Rose and seven-year-old Jack – but the actor had been married before and had been engaged to a number of women, including Kate Moss.
He told Vanity Fair magazine: “I’m glad I didn’t have children until Vanessa and I got together.”
Johnny added: “I think when you are young, you are hoping that this person will be the right one, the one you are going to be in love with forever but sometimes you want that so much you create something that isn’t really there.
“I went through a number of relationships when I was younger because of that.”
The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor said of his relationship with wife Lori Anne Allison, who he married in 1983 and split from in 1985.
“I was very young when I married Lori Anne and probably it was because I was trying to create a situation. We married in 1983 but it didn’t last very long and that was probably because I wasn’t ready to handle such a commitment.”
Johnny then went on to date Jennifer Grey, Winona Ryder and Kate Moss, but he said: “It wasn’t until I met Vanessa that life started to be real.”

Jonah Hill has revealed that he would like Johnny Depp to do a cameo in his upcoming movie remake of US TV show 21 Jump Street.
The Edward Scissorhands actor portrayed Officer Tom Hanson on the series from 1987 to 1990, while Hill is hoping to lure the star in for a return to his old stomping ground, MTV reports.
“We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo,” Hill said. “I talked to his agent a few times.
“I’ve never met the man. He probably won’t do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he’d be proud of, and it’s a real crowd pleaser. It’s not cheesy.”
The Superbad actor would not divulge if the proposed walk-on part involves Depp playing his original character.
Hill recently admitted that he would like to do the project as an R-rated action comedy.
Depp can next be seen in Public Enemies, which opens cinemas on July 3.
